Water Management

Water management has been one of the most strategic conservation measures across business at the Choksi Group. Emphasis is made to ensure that dependence on freshwater sources is minimal, which in mutual interest of business operations, communities and the environment 11 milion litres waste water, treaded in FY19-20, 1.1+million litres Rain water harvested, 100% water reused. 30+ ponds and streams deepen, 490+ acres farmland converted to drip irrigation.

 

Sea water- Desaline water is a key source of water requirement for our power plant in Gujarat. This allows to avoid any dependency on freshwater sources. Desaline water also support a major chunk of water requirements within the industrial units economic zone. Clubbed with treated water, the Gujarat SEZ met 95% of its water requirement from these sustainable sources.

 

Rain water-  We have harvested 1.1 million litres of water which can be used for generating approximately 91 million units of electricity. This can light up 8.9 lakh house of a month considering that the average household requirement per month is 100 units. Additionally, all major solar and wind power plants are installed with rain water harvesting system.
