We have invested in several innovative renewable energy generation initiatives such as algae to oil and jatropha based biodiesel. We have also installed rooftop solar photo voltaic modules and biogas generation facilities across several of our manufacturing sites. We are recycling about 1 million PET bottles a year. Taking it a step further. We are creating value from water. Recron green gold polyster staple fibre is produced by a highly eco friendly process. Apart from being made from 100% recycled PET bottles, it also uses 90% recycled water.

Tree Plantation- High survival rate is ensured through optimum selection of native species along with deployment of most modern practices. This has resulted in plantation of over 1 million tress. Use of sewage treated water has delivered dual benefits of aiding trees plantation and reducing the dependency on fresh water sources. At some locations of gujarat 100% watering is made through sewage treated water.

Bioshield- Continuing the innovative methods in the areas of environment conservation, the group has commerce development of a natural bio-shield made of mangroves and local species in Gujarat. The bio-shield aims at conserving the soil quality and ground water taste safeguarding them against sea water and saline winds. The first bio-shield has been developed in Gujarat by planting mangroves closest to the coastline, followed by native plants such as sharu and morad (these plant also act as a folder supply dry seasons). The project not only helps prevent soil erosion and safeguard ground water, but has also generated jobs for the local communities who will be their long term beneficiaries.
